Biofuels – the good, the bad and the ugly

With the 2007 ethanol law, biofuels hit the mainstream – in a way… The problem with this seemly environmental friendly law is that it is taking corn away from food producers to fuel vehicles (ie. ethanol). With the UN reporting a 37% in global food prices, this is the bad part of biofuels.

Why I Left Greenpeace

The Wall Street Journal just published one of the best articles on the dangers of the environmental movement I've ever read. It was written by Patrick Moore, co-founder and former leader of Greenpeace, who is currently chairman and chief scientist of Greenspirit Strategies.

In the article, Mr. Moore shares how Greenpeace, and the environmental [...]

Last night my bride informed me that I was more of a "nerd" then she was as I tended to be interested in and research topics outside my normal everyday life (like calculating the terminal velocity of a [...]

I must be part nerd..

My very nerdy wife sent me a link to a webcomic (Dumnestor’s Heroes) where the author is trying to calucate the aerodynamic properties of balrogs. Yes – Balrogs. As in LOTR balrogs.

Why?

Because she’s a nerd who wanted to find out just how far the Balrog and Gandalf falls!!

Using the [...]

God Showed Up!!

We serve an Awesome Lord!! This weekend I had the pleasure to co-teach a prayer / ministry seminary designed to help folks live the Holy Spirit filled life Jesus promised us that we could live.

Co-teaching this class was quite a stretch for me – I mean, I know the information, but to teach [...]
